How to Fix Samsung Galaxy S I9000 Freeze/Frozen,Hang Problem

These are the following hints that I'm going to share with you if the Samsung Galaxy S experience some hang or frozen problem. Hanging, as in not responding is very rare, this may happens because Android phones can runs in multitask operation.  The phones memory getting low due to for example, running multiple apps but slight lag,  while scrolling down long texts or phone book happens once in a while.

If the device is frozen it become unresponsive, the first thing you only do is to restart the phone. Pressing the Power Button will do, but sometimes you may need to pull the battery out in few seconds and re-insert it back again.

Solution to Fix Samsung Galaxy S Hang or Frozen problem:

A.  If the Device is Frozen or hang, just reboot the phone by pressing the power button until the device turned OFF and reboot automatically.

B. But sometimes the device become unresponsive or freezes oftentimes you can perform a factory data reset through menu settings. This will restore back the phones factory default settings.
1. Select Settings then Privacy
2. Select Factory Data Reset
3  Select Reset Phone
4. if the password is prompted just enter it then select Erase Everything to confirm.

C. If the procedures above doesn't fix the problem you may then try to hard reset the device by way of button combination.  Just make a back up copy of all of your important data stored on the device for this will wipe and delete all of it. Other that the phone will become unrooted if you already unroot your phone.

Press and hold the Volume Up and Home button
then press the Power button
Release the Power button until the device Turns On.

Other Samsung galaxy S firmware may not work the button combination above it only works on the Volume DOWN and the Power button instead of the Volume up button.

1. Hold the Volume Down button
2. Press and release the Power Button
3. Select Clear Storage by pressing the Volume Down button
4. Press Volume Up to confirm Hard Reset

D. The solution above is a way of fixing mild hang or frozen problems. Some severe problems is cause by the firmware interruption because of some users are very curious about their phones, you know? Installing, updating firmware and applications without risking that this will also cause the device to some serious problems.

In problem like this, cannot only be solved or fix by way of factory data or hard reset. A solution for this is by restoring the device original stock-firmware. This will clean up and return the phone to its original factory fresh like the way you bought it brand new. A Samsung flasher tool called ODIN Multidownloader can do the job. See here the Firmware flashing or downloading procedure on Samsung Galaxy S.

But sometimes there are severe hang or frozen problem that is due to hardware issue if the device suffered  wet or water damaged, heavily dropped and oxidation build ups inside the phones PCB board, and this problem can only be fix by hardware calibration and then firmware or software calibration. A mobile phone technician with good soldering skills only can do this job.
